I intended to write about this the moment it was put in front of me. The reason being I, often times than I can remember , keep doubting myself on my capabilities as a person. I am sure you have come across such phases in your life where you had the same experience.
This person I am about to write about may help you ridding you of such doubts. This time unlike other previous write-ups. I am writing so carefully because I intend get the complete image of what I want to be put out there in total clarity ,without a shed of mistranslation or any small detail that might have not made sense .
Lets start we often come across these videos right , You don't need a College degree to be successful! Look at Bill gates ,Look at Mark Zuckerberg look at all these other great personalities. When you watch such videos you jump with strong excitement shouting out loud "Lets drop out of college". And for some choosing such an alternative would be a completely irrational decision to be making while for some it may pave the ways for the first steps for creation of their greatness.
Forgive me , But I am so excited about this person that imagining his journey from getting to where he is today will always be something that inspires me and truth be told this person was an inspiration long before he reached where he is today.
The person I am about to write about is someone I hold dear to me heart . Let me first make clear this is in no way a discouragement of colleges or the way it is operated nowadays. My character and for sure I know most of our characters is and will continue to be of the nature in which we respect our teachers who taught us and played an important role in who we are today. I just thought I needed to make that part clear . I will get straight to the story. If you made it this far then I am sure I won't disappoint coz this one is for the ages.
Anyways is college necessary to achieve greatness . Well the below boy from Malapuram is for sure raising the bar to the validity of that simple question.
You see this small boy ,he was fortunate enough to get an education till plus two. And he would spend most of his days in Akshaya centre part time wise making a small amount of money. Then comes the turning point. He decides to pursue a career in architect ,construction so completes a small course for that . At this point in his life he only starts learning what is absolutely necessary none of that extra course on other redundant topics or formula that we normally mug up anyways.
Completes his small architect course and gets a job in a small firm that pays him exactly 3000 per month because well that is normally how it is right.
He in turn gets experience right
Wrong!! Actually . He is not making that much progress there so he does the next big thing quits and starts exploring the vast city of Bangalore. It is not a big frantic search but a relaxed one.
Nothing works out , so he goes where all who search for Construction job goes to , he goes to Dubai.
There he gets a really good job at a furniture designing firm and to get his visa in order returns back to his hometown all ready to go back with a Work Visa but guess what Covid 19 happens and in one short word Shit happened.!!!
During this period I have had irregular but certain interactions with him. And during those conversation I always found him relaxed calm and composed. And after all this ,after failing to get a job, after finally landing a job his hopes being shattered once again he decides to take the biggest step of all and starts his very own construction company. And he is brilliant at what he does, at the way he negotiates prices with corporate companies that supply the raw materials. And at a point in our life when others were losing jobs here comes a guy with No college degree starting his own company and providing job opportunities to many different individuals . I recently came to know that there are Btech pass out working for him in his company. Now look at that. From a person who made 3000 per month - to an Entrepreneur- to a person who created jobs.
Up until knowing this story I never gave that much thought to the relevance of the question Do you need a college Degree to achieve success. But after this point I can say I have changed my opinion and I know there can be a lot of deep discussion on this topic and also several debates that have taken place.
But just to point out my stand on the relevance of College Degree has changed to a great extent after today
You never need a degree if you clearly know what you are doing and you are motivated enough to keep on getting better and better in that... Greatness is when your passion, what drives you to wake up each day and tirelessly work up until the night makes the world a little more beautiful for your fellow beings. They are the successful ones.
